CHDK Port
Anybody out there ever use CHDK? It is an open replacement firmware for Canon cameras. I'm getting a Canon SD870IS, and there is evidently a port to that model. I think I'll have to port my Eye-Fi Config software over to it and see if I can get it to work. That should allow me to add access points out in the field.

I look forward to hearing how things go for you. I also have a Canon camera that looks to be supported and I would like to have some added EyeFi support.
AFAIK, it is not possible to run CHDK on the EyeFi. EyeFi is regular SD but it does not have a lock and you need to lock the SD card to launch CHDK.
A possible solution would be to modify the lock reader inside the camera but it does not seem so easy.
Bummer, it sounded like a would have been really cool. I might just have to try out CHDK anyway.

Ever heard of an X-Acto knife? ;)
I am using CHDK on a SD500. There are two ways to launch CHDK. To use it always at power up you have to have the card locked, but you can also manually load it from the menu after power up if done in a certain order(power up in play mode and immediately load the firmware from the menu). I am pretty sure this does not require a locked card. At the very least the card doesn't need to be locked, not sure why it would need that capability then. This lets me use CHDK and others don't have to worry about the extra options and menus you can stumble into.
That's great to see that it is possible to run CHDK on the eyefi!
Regarding what shane said: I remember that on the A60, it was possible to boot the card manually from the menus. I did not found this option on the A650.
Are you continuing your development on CHDK?
Which build did you start from?
Have you a document describing Eye-Fi "protocol"? I own a Canon G7 and am using CHDK. I'd be glad to contribute to development as soon as i receive the Eye-Fi card I ordered
